Interesting Facts:

I am a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and have been serving for 12 years. I started riding motorcycles in 2001. My first bike was a V-Star 650. The salesman suggested going larger, but I thought 650 was too much as it was. However, one week after buying it, I wished I have gone much bigger. So my next bike, purchased in 2006, was the Yamaha Stratoliner- 1854cc; significantly bigger.

I love to ride, but I don’t like cold or wet weather. Spending most of my riding time in San Diego, CA, I get to ride in the best weather almost year round, so I don’t see the need to ride in bad weather. I love to ride with friends and discovering new roads I’ve never been on before. Isn’t that why we all ride- get on the bike, get lost and spend the rest of the day finding our way home- adventure!

I enjoy riding these long distance timed rides. I once did 1000 miles in 21 hours. I am planning another trip that will take me from Mexico to Canada in 36 hours. Of course I think I’ll take a week to come back. I would love to make it to Sturgis one day.

Future Rides: Planning to ride the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the Summer of 2013.

Interesting Facts: I get better gas mileage with my wife riding with me than I do on my own, go figure that one out! I went to the Fl. State HOG rally in Oct. Leesburg, Tavares, Clermont, the riding thru the rolling hills, by the lakes, and through the orange groves, off the hook! If you haven’t rode any in those areas your missing some great rides.

Watch the speed trap in Carrabelle, Fl. it’s expensive!

On our 1000 mile trek we actually saw a woman in a brand new Jeep drive off with the fuel Pump nozzle still in the tank and gas pouring out everywhere where the hose disconnect separated. Needless to say no gas here!

And finally if 2 wheels truly doesn’t move your soul, you’re probably dead.

Favorite Ride: In 2012 I rode to Hyder, Alaska and back, a trip of 10,000 miles in three weeks.

Future Rides: Planning to ride the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the Summer of 2013.

Interesting Facts: I seem to be a bird attracter when on my motorcycle. I was hit by a Red-tailed Hawk in 2005, hit by a Bat in 2009, had a close call with a Blue Heron early in 2012, and was hit by a Duck on my way to Alaska in 2012.

Future Rides: I have a Coast to Coast ride in the planning stages. My dream ride would be from Key West Florida to Dead Horse Alaska.

Interesting Facts: I’ve been riding for 39 years. I’m the President of the local chapter of the Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club. I’m also a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) RiderCoach as well as a motorcycle mentor and mentor instructor.

Type of Bike: 2011 FLHX

I started riding in the early 80’s. Somehow I got a hold of a yz80 and tore up every dirt field I could find close to my house. My next bike was a KLR 650. I loved to be able to leave my house and explore the Sonoran Desert that stretches out in all directions. My first street bike was a 99 Dyna Wide Glide. I got involved with a business associate who went to the Laughlin River Run every year. In 2010 I decided to ride to Sturgis. The Wide Glide did a great job but I was ready for a little more power and comfort. My current bike is a 2011 FLHX!

My first LDR ride was an all-night easy rider from my house, ending in Blythe, Ca. Where we hooded up with friends and rode on to Laughlin.

My second was part of my FAVORITE RIDE. Riding the first 1000 miles (on my Street Glide) on my way to Sturgis. Covering those miles in the allotted time and crossing six state lines. After spending the weekend in the Black Hills I headed out across Montana making stops at the Battle of the Little Bighorn and Red Lodge before making my way across Bear tooth Pass! (Highly recommend you add this to your bucket list). Spent the next day riding around Yellowstone and spent that night in Jackson Hole, WY. I then stayed in Beaver, UT and rode the rest of the way back to Phoenix by way of Lake Mary road from Flagstaff, AZ to Payson, AZ (another highly recommended road). All said and done it was a 6 day 3,403mi ride.

Future Rides: I’m putting together a 1,500 mile Northern Arizona ride that will include Jerome, Oak Creek Canyon, the North and South rim of the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and the White Mountains!

Future Rides: Full Throttle and/or King of the Road, Fall Flood Run, Maybe Slimey Crud Run(all hopefully this year), and Sturgis 2013

Interesting Facts: This is my 2nd year of riding and I am already on my 2nd bike(I don’t plan on having a new bike each year). My first bike was a 1981 Yamaha 650 Maxim. Not sure if I could have made the 500 miles on the Maxim, but so happy I started with that bike. I call my bike the Red and White Buffalo after the guy on the buffalo series(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ4T9CQA0UM). I am also the first person in my family to learn how to ride a Motorcycle.

Interesting Facts:

We have been married for 40 years and riding together since 2000. We ride locally and travel as much as we can. We try to get a trip in with friends to the mountains of North Carolina each year. We enjoy the roads and scenery in western N.C.

In the summer of 2011 we rode to Milwaukee, WI and visited the Harley Museum. That trip included 3 separate Long Distance Riders “Easy Rider” days. Our H-D Ultra is our 4th Harley and between them I have logged well over 100,000 miles.

In 2010 we rode to Natchez, MS then north on the Natchez Trace to Nashville, TN. We visited a few Nashville Honkytonks and enjoyed some great country music.

In 2008 we rode to Myrtle Beach S.C. and up the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Nags Head & Kitty Hawk, a spectacular trip that included 4 different ferry crossings and lots of truly awesome scenery.

We plan to ride to Milwaukee, WI again in 2013 for the Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary celebration.

We are also members of the Tallahassee Chapter of the Harley Owners Group and enjoy the club rides and activities. In the past, Dave has served as Chapter Director, Asst. Director, Activities Director, Head Road Captain.

Dave is a member of the riding group known as the North Florida Peckerheads, a guy’s only group that rides to Franklin, NC each year for 4 days of intense mountain road riding. The NFPH holds court every Thursday night at the K & K Fish Camp on Lake Iamonia north of Tallahassee.

Interesting Facts: I have only been riding for two years, but ride almost daily putting ~20K miles a year on the bike since I bought it in July of 2010. Ten Months after getting my ride I was doing multi-day touring trips with my riding buddy to some of the best riding on the east coast. I enjoy trip and route planning, along with photography and video. Two years later I’ve completed my first certified Long Distance ride covering 1080 miles in ~20 hours from Virginia to Florida with my wife on the pillion.

Interesting Facts

I’ve been riding for years but only became “legal” a couple years ago. I ran old Hondas through the woods, power lines, etc. Then in 2010 a friend got me out riding 125cc scooters during a camping trip, setting me on a track to run legal,ie licensed, and then in 2011 I bought the Big Ruckus, and this year I bought the Iron, mainly because I didn’t care for running WOT on the highway with the Big Ruckus for my daily commute (WOT constantly twice a day for extrended periods of time isn’t good for a motor ) I’m also working on making my Iron an under 12 second ¼ mile bike along with a LD riding bike.
