Rodrigo Mascarenhas

Hello fellow road warriors and motorcycle enthusiasts! I’m Rodrigo Mascarenhas, originally from Brazil, and I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 25 thrilling years. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of living and riding in many countries across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. My trusty bike has been my companion on countless adventures in far-off lands, but this time, I decided to take on a completely different challenge: an exhilarating long-distance endurance rally right here in Mexico.

What motivated me to embark on this journey were the diverse challenges Mexico had in store. Here, the roads put your riding skills to the test with over 300 kilometers of thrilling twists and turns that seem never-ending. But that’s not all – Mother Nature also wanted to play her part! I began my journey in temperatures hovering around 43 degrees Fahrenheit, and by noon, I was baking under a scorching sun about 102 degrees Fahrenheit along the Gulf of Mexico coast. On top of that, rain and fog joined the party, keeping me on my toes with every twist and turn of my 1610-kilometer odyssey.

Meticulous planning was the key to my success on this adventure. From mapping out the perfect route to setting up checkpoints with precise timings and making sure I didn’t run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere. In Mexico, it’s not uncommon to encounter long stretches of road with no gas stations in sight, so each pit stop to fill up the tank was a crucial strategic move on my journey.

At the end of the day, I can proudly say that this experience was truly exceptional. I spent nearly 24 hours facing unparalleled challenges, and meticulous planning allowed me to overcome each obstacle and successfully complete the challenge of covering 1610 kilometers in under 24 hours. It was an experience that tested me both physically and mentally but, at the same time, allowed me to experience the thrill of the open road and the beauty of Mexico at its finest.

The passion for motorcycles and adventure still burns in my heart, and I can’t wait to share more exciting two-wheeled experiences with all of you! Until the next curve, fellow riders!
