I am a 22 year retired U.S. Army veteran. I started riding after returning from Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm in the early 90s on a Honda Shadow 750. Took a break after getting married & starting a family till 2009. Started riding again on a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. Rode that bike all over including Deals Gap after a return from a deployment to Africa in 2010-2011. That bike was stolen in 2020 which led me to my current bike, a 2013 Suzuki Boulevard C90T B.O.S.S.
I commute on my bike when I can, the area I live in has a short riding season, but I really prefer the open road and long cruises. It’s my therapy and helps keep me a version of sane in this crazy world. I qualified for the Easy Rider 500 miles in 12 hours in 2020 and the Full Throttle 1000 miles in 24 hours in 2022.
My favorite rides so far are Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap & Rattlesnake Grade between Washington state and Oregon.
An unfulfilled bucket list ride is the entirety of Route 66 someday.
